Handling Head Injuries during Soccer Training

Handling Head Injuries during Soccer Training

While many soccer training sessions are completed with absolutely no injuries, many are not so successful. There are many different kinds of situations that may arise when it comes to soccer training. Virtually any part of the body may be injured when one is practicing to increase their skill and ability in soccer. However, one specific location of the body is prone to injury in this particular sports training event. That is the head. The head is used in many applications in soccer. Here, you will learn how to handle head injuries during soccer training.

The thing that you can do as a coach is to educate yourself properly when it comes to injuries that you may have to handle in the soccer playing field. When studying injuries to the head, you should ensure that you understand all the different kinds of situations that may occur, the signs that they have occurred, the symptoms that may be experienced by an individual, and what you can do to assist in the individual in the way of aid. One particular topic that you should review thoroughly as it is quite common is a head concussion.

When a person experiences a head concussion, it means that they have experienced a bruise, or series of broken blood vessels, to the brain . This can be an extremely dangerous situation. It can be caused from a simple blow to the head from a soccer ball, or accidentally tapped or by another on the field. When a person experiences this, they may actually pass out. You may find that the individual complains of a headache if they do not pass out. They may also experience a loss in memory, issues with balance and coordination, or even become physically ill.

As the coach of the soccer training session, it is important to identify the situation quickly. You should make certain that you call for assistance immediately. It is always a good idea to keep a cell phone on hand for emergencies. You should stabilize the head of the individual and make sure that no one moves the person until medical help arrives. Only medical professionals, such as paramedics, an on site nurse or doctor or other trained individual should attempt to move the injured person.

There are other head injuries that may occur to the head during soccer training. The two most common include nosebleeds and black eyes. If a nosebleed occurs, a person should be given a cloth and requested to sit in a position that is comfortable for them. They should then try to pinch the nose shut for just a few minutes. This usually helps to stop the bleeding that is occurring. If the nose appears to be broke, call medical help as soon as possible. If someone experiences a black eye during soccer training, it is important to give the person ice or an ice pack to place on the eye in to reduce swelling and reduce the pain that is associated with this particular injury.

Gilly glee. And absolutely perfect music.

Kelsey has his beloved soccer ball — and has had the same soccer ball since he was a pup. He has a very gentle mouth and doesn't perforate his toys — usually he doesn't even get the chance, because little Jax steals and hoards all toys. Except the one that's too big for him to pick up, the soccer ball.

Maybe I should get Kelsey a new soccer ball.

A regular belt can do the job.

O wait, their necks are so damn thick that you need a 500 foot rope to get the job done.

I keep hearing people go “What a bunch of first world/bourgeious/priveleged…they wouldn't be able to do that without outside societal…”

Your ranting is being transmitted over the epitome of human technology and cooperation. Go bother your local baker, who might fling a muffin at you.

They're playing with mud and thinking about the ramifications of playing with mud. MEANWHILE, AT THE LEGION OF DOO- I mean.. ON THE INTERNET…you're griping about them playing with mud.

The level of irony is deadly. I suggest not considering this further.

This resonated for me! If the balance (or even just the perception of the balance) between life and work is off, then issues at work can be blown out of proportion. And accepting that while the balance is unlikely to be 50/50 every day, so long as it's at a level that works for you it's ok. Personally if I feel the balance is tipping the wrong way for me I try to arrange something mid week, turn off the blackberry and claim back some time! Anyone else have anyways they redress their balance??

One of the reasons the U of M has success in sports, is because they continue to support the non money making sports to continue, even thought the athletic department is in bad shape.

A lot of people here are upset with Title IX, because women's sports are receiving a lot of their money from Men's sports.

I just think it's great to have sports like baseball, gymnastics, golf, crew. Rather than just a successful football and basketball program, even thought the money generated by those sports would be nice.

One of the meanings of 'pin' is, in fact, stick. But it also means a rotational axis, as in 'axle pin', which is probably why it is used for this term. The rotating roller type with handles at both ends is more common than the simple rod type of rolling pin.
